Who doesn't love a good smoothie? This spinach blueberry banana smoothie is perfect for an on-the-go breakfast or snack. It's packed with protein and healthy antioxidants, making it the perfect way to start your day! Not to mention, it tastes delicious too.
We love sipping on a great blueberry banana berry smoothie with spinach because it is the perfect start for our day, leaving you completely satiated.
Adding some healthy greens at the very start of your day, packed within a blueberry smoothie, gives you an excellent source of antioxidants and fiber to get through your morning. Without a doubt one of the best energizer smoothie recipes.
It is a great idea to include berries in your smoothies and breakfast because they have lots of fiber and are low in calories. We love making our blueberry overnight oats and blackberries banana smoothie because they are delicious, packed with antioxidants, and convenient, as they can be made in batches and enjoyed readily made in the morning.
We often add hemp flour, hemp seeds, or plant-based protein powder to the smoothies with berries to increase their protein content, thus avoiding a mid-morning slump since protein takes longer to digest.
Especially if you have your delicious green smoothie before working out or as a post-workout drink.

🧾 Ingredients
This blueberry spinach smoothie features very simple ingredients that you are very likely to have readily available and can easily make a healthy breakfast.
- Baby spinach
- Frozen banana
- Blueberries
- Soy milk (oat milk and almond milk also work)
- Pumpkin pie spice mix or cinnamon
Optional: hemp flour (or vegan protein) and a natural sweetener like dates.
🔪 Instructions
Place spinach and dairy-free milk in a blender. It is better to add the liquid first, especially if you use frozen products. This facilitates the blades' work.
Blend until smooth, and add ice cubes if you want it extra cold or not, using fruits in your blueberry banana smoothie.
Taste and adjust. Add more blueberries and blend again if you want the extra blueberry flavor.
Serve your green smoothie with blueberries on top to make your smoothie extra fancy.
This spinach and banana smoothie recipe yields two spinach smoothie servings of about 10 ounces.
Top tip: you can freeze smoothie packs in a Ziploc bag using your favorite combination of fruits and greens. You can have a different smoothie every day. It's easy to do! You don't need to thaw the pack before you blend it. All you need to is blend it with your plant milk.
📖 Variations
Blueberries
To make a spinach and berry smoothie, you can use fresh and frozen blueberries or mixed berries. If you use only frozen fruit like frozen berries and bananas, you can skip the ice cubes to have a creamier and still healthy smoothie.
Leafy greens
To make a spinach kale blueberry smoothie, simply replace half the spinach with kale. Always make sure to remove kale stems.

You can always use frozen spinach in your banana spinach smoothie; the flavor won't be affected. We also love making another version of this smoothie using kiwi and apples and a spinach ginger smoothie for a low, low-calorie count.
Seeds
If you want to increase your smoothie's antioxidant and protein content, you can add a tablespoon of chia seeds or flax meal.
Pumpkin seeds are also great, especially if you are dealing with lots of stress, given that they are a good source of potassium. Eating foods rich in potassium, such as pumpkin seeds or bananas, can help reduce symptoms of stress and anxiety.
Creamier
This blueberry banana smoothie without yogurt is creamy enough, but you can use vanilla-flavored soy yogurt to make it creamier and add more protein. You only need to add half a cup of your favorite plant-based yogurt.

Also another great way to make a smoothie super creamy is by adding Oatmeal, just like we do in our Oatmeal Peanut Butter smoothie. Just make sure you blend the dry oatmeal in the blender before adding the rest of the ingredients. This way, the oats will be fully pulverized.
Spices
If you don't have pumpkin pie spice mix handy, simply add a pinch of your favorite spices like cinnamon, ground cloves, ground ginger, and/or nutmeg.
Non-dairy milk
All plant milks work great on this smoothie; I use them interchangeably. We like using homemade soy milk or oat milk when we want to make a blueberry banana protein smoothie.
I use unsweetened vanilla almond milk when I want something lighter (see our homemade almond milk recipe) or light coconut milk.
Another option is to make a lighter and still healthy blueberry banana smoothie o adding orange juice instead of plant milk.
